Procomm Plus Internet Connection Setup Information List (Please read this complete list before proceeding.) Procomm Plus will ask you to provide or confirm the following information necessary to configure your Internet Connection: 1. Your account USER ID (also called logon name). 2. Your account PASSWORD. 3. The type of connection protocol your Service Provider uses for your account (SLIP or PPP). 4. The type of address assignment method your Service Provider uses (Dynamic or Static). If you have a Static IP Address account, you will need the IP Address assigned to your account, plus any Subnet Mask used. 5. The Subnet Mask your Service Provider uses (if none is specified, use 255.255.255.0). 6. The Gateway Address your Service Provider uses (if none is specified, use 0.0.0.0). 7. The Primary Domain Name Server (DNS) Address your Service Provider uses. If a Secondary DNS Address is available, please provide it as well. The following only apply if your Service Provider supplies Internet Mail and News services: 8. The address or name of your Service Provider's Internet Mail Server (if provided). 9. Your personal mail address assigned to you by your Service Provider. 10. Your mail account USER ID (also called mail logon name). 11. Your mail account PASSWORD. 12. The address or name of your Service Provider's Internet News Server. 13. Your news account USER ID (if required, also called news logon name). 14. Your news account PASSWORD (if required). Procomm Plus may have some of this information in the Service Provider database. If a field is already filled, please don't change the information unless you have confirmed the change with information from your Service Provider. Once you've completed the configuration process, Procomm Plus will automatically create a script that will be used to logon to your Internet Service Provider in the future. If Procomm Plus needs additional information about your Service Provider's logon process, you may be asked to help by manually logging on to the Internet Server while Procomm Plus records the additional data.
